LMU’s Innovators Film Festival to concentrate on AI panels, installations

Loyola Marymount University organizes its inaugural Innovators Film Festival and offers panel discussions and experience installations that are aimed at AI.

The free festival, organized by LMU’s School of Film and Television, contains screening of short films, as well as panels and workshops that consist of industry professionals who will talk about topics such as the ethical use of AI in entertainment. Reid Ai, an avatar based on LinkedIn-MEDE founder Reid Hoffman, offers the opening keynote. Ben Relles and Parth Patil, who have contributed to the development of the Avatar, will moderate.

Remarkable festival participants will be Ed Ulbrich, Chief Content Officer of Metaphysic, President of Production; Sydney Bright, Webtoon’s Head of Global Animation; Yoshi Takashima, senior vice president of Advanced Technology at Sony Pictures; Holly Willis, chairman of Media Arts & Practice Division at the USC School of Cinematic Arts and CO director of AI for Media & Storytelling and Dave Clark, the co-founder of Promise and Chief Creative Officer.

Carolyn Giardina, VarietyThe senior entertainment technology and the editor of the entertainment technology, will exist the ladies of the Festival teacher Tech Panel, consisting of film school trainers.

The festival will also contain experience installations, such as Sony’s demonstration of Xyn software and hardware and the impact of technology on motion capture and 3D design, Google’s Video Generation Technology VEO 2, Metafysic’s AI-driven digital performance and Adobe’s demonstration of Next-Ggen trains.

The festival takes place on the Westchester campus of LMU.
