Lily Allen furious that her album didn’t hurt David Harbour

Lily Allen is ‘furious’ that her blistering new album, which exposes her failed marriage to David Harbour, has done little to damage his career. Stranger things star just landed a major Hollywood role alongside Patricia Arquette.
If RadarOnline.com the 40-year-old singer reported West End girl last month, a raw and explicit account of the couple’s turbulent four-year marriage and her discovery of his alleged infidelity.
But while the album made headlines for its X-rated lyrics and brutal honesty, Harbor, 50, appears to have emerged unscathed. Evil geniusa true crime thriller directed by Friends actress Courteney Cox.
Inspired by the 2018 Netflix documentary of the same name, the film follows the infamous ‘pizza bomber’ case – a darkly comedic story that begins with the death of a man forced to rob a bank with a bomb around his neck.
Cox said: “I’m fascinated by it Evil genius since I first saw the documentary. It’s stranger than fiction. Sometimes darkly funny and yet deeply emotional – a story about love, loneliness and manipulation.”
Allen’s circle says the singer is “furious.” Harbour’s career remains intact despite exposing what she described as his “betrayal” on new songs such as Madeline And Tennis.
The record, Allen’s first in seven years, features provocative lyrics referencing sex, deceit and heartbreak.
On MadelineAllen sings, “I can’t trust anything that comes out of his mouth,” as Tennis sees her confronting a woman after finding a message from her on her partner’s phone.
“Lily really believed this record would mess things up for David,” said a friend of the singer. “She put her whole heart into it: the pain, the anger, the rawness. She thought it would tarnish his polished Hollywood image a little, but instead he thrives. It drives her crazy.”
Another source close to Allen added: “She didn’t create West End Girl to destroy him, but she did want the truth to be known. When she sees him shrug his shoulders and move on to new projects, she feels rejected. It’s like he’s rewriting their story while she’s the one exposing herself in the music.”
Harbour, which was promoting the final season of Stranger thingsbroke his silence on their split in September, saying, “Either you fully accept your path and realize that even the pain, the mistakes and the mistakes are all part of the journey.”
When asked what he would change about his life, he replied, “I would change everything or nothing.”
The actor has not publicly commented on it West End girl or its content. Insiders say he is focused on his upcoming projects including Evil geniuswhich also stars Michael Chernus, Danielle Macdonald and Tom McCarthy.
Meanwhile, critics have hailed Allen’s album as her boldest yet: a mix of confessional narratives and sexually charged revenge songs.
“It’s Lily at her boldest,” said a music insider. “Songs like ‘Bitter Tea’ and ‘Bedroom Politics’ show her taking back her power. The record is fierce and unapologetic – but David’s refusal to respond makes it all that much deeper.”
Another industry figure said: “She’s frustrated that the man she calls directly is still booking big roles. For Lily, this album was deeply personal and cathartic – but for David and his amazing career, it’s like it barely registered.”
