Lily Allen and David Harbor list ‘weird’ marital home for $8 million – days after singer releases intimate ‘Divorce Album’

Lily Allen and actor David Haven have put their marital Brooklyn mansion up for sale for just under $8 million – just days after the singer revealed some very intimate details about their bitter split in her new album.

The extensive estate of Carroll Gardens, which is Grade II listed Carl Gambino by Compass, was put on the market on October 26 for $7.99 million – more than double the $3.35 million price the former couple paid for the home in 2021.

Allen, 40, and Harbour, 50, were deep in the throes of their romance when they bought the house, which served as their primary residence during their four-year marriage.

However, that marriage ended earlier this year when reports surfaced that they had pulled the plug on their relationship.

There was plenty of speculation about the cause of the breakup, after which Allen exposed it all in her new album ‘West End Girl’. In it, she made several shocking accusations about Harbour’s alleged infidelity, with the mansion playing a central role in the record’s title track.

According to the song, the decision to purchase the house was largely Harbour’s, with Allen singing, “Now I’m looking at four or five story houses / And you found us a brownstone and said, ‘Do you want it? It’s yours.’

She adds in the text that she felt like she would never have been able to afford the property without her husband’s help, admitting that the financial situation made her feel “a little bit uncomfortable,” especially since she says Harbor was the one who “pushed” to complete the deal.

After purchasing the house, the couple carried out an extensive interior overhaul, in collaboration with the designer Billy Cotton– who is also referenced in Allen’s song – to turn the historic residence into a “weird” and whimsical wonderland.

“So we went ahead and we bought it / Found a good mortgage / Billy Cotton got sorted / All the furniture ordered / I could never afford this / You pushed it forward / I felt a little uncomfortable / I felt a little uncomfortable,” Allen recalled in “West End Girl.”

Located on a block in Brooklyn adorned with lush greenery, the property measures four stories and features five bedrooms and four bathrooms.

According to the listing, the 20-foot-wide property combines “traditional English charm, modern Brooklyn sensibilities and rich Italian influence.”

Upon entering the home, guests are greeted with green carpeting leading to a white staircase.

Adjacent to the entrance is the cozy living room, with floral wallpaper, green cornice, fireplace and glass doors to the backyard with its own sauna and cold plunge pool.

The chef’s kitchen is completely white, including the tile backsplash, and comes complete with state-of-the-art appliances, a large island and a chandelier.

There is also a large breakfast area, located next to a window, where several people can sit.

One of the bathrooms has blue floral wallpaper, a fireplace and a large bathtub.

The many bedrooms offer enough space for a king-size bed and large windows that provide the rooms with natural light.

An office space has multi-colored wallpaper and a large window.

Another lounge area has zebra print carpeting and a matching zebra print sofa.

“Lily is someone who lives with color in a deeper way than most. Her taste is bold, silly, fun, eccentric. It’s exciting,” he told AD.

It was also a big step away from the mid-century modern aesthetic Harbor enjoyed in his first home: a one-bedroom loft in a former carriage factory in New York’s trendy NoHo neighborhood.

In that home, Harbour’s bedroom was filled with natural light thanks to the enormous windows and soaring ceilings.

Allen previously described the windowless primary suite as a “bed womb.” (Compass)

But in the house he and Allen built together, the pink master suite had no windows, creating the impression of a cozy cave that was in stark contrast to his former home.

While offering AD a glimpse into their home, Allen described the room as a “bed womb.”

Elsewhere in the house, light fills the space, including in the carpeted master bathroom, which features a huge soaking tub and a fireplace. The bathroom also serves as a sitting room, with the shower and toilet moved to a separate room to create lounge space in the room.

“It looks like no one has been home for a long time. Every house on the street has Halloween decorations, but Lily and David’s don’t.”

“It’s a very family-friendly area. Lily was very active in the community when she lived here with David,” a neighbor told The Sun.
