Leslie Siebert on her historical promotion at Gersh

Leslie Siebert was recently appointed any president of the Gersh Agency, which represents a wide range of actors, writers, directors and artisans, including Angela Bassett, Jacob Elordi and Hiroyuki Sanada.

The boost that came last month makes Siebert the first woman to lead a great Hollywood talent agency. It comes almost two years after Gersh has received an investment from Private Equity company Crestview Partners. Since then, the agency has founded in the late 1940s by the famous talent representative Phil Gersh the Madrid-based You First Sports Agency and the digital and alternative departments of what was previously the A3 office.

Siebert is a long-term Gersh-Loyalist who came to the desk in the mid-1980s. Here Siebert discusses Gersh’s growth plan and how she wants to build on his long legacy in Hollywood.

What is Gersh’s position in the representation landscape?

We are exactly positioned where we want – as a real and only alternative to the big three [CAA, WME and UTA] Agencies. Artists must be priority, supported and guided. By acquiring the digital and alternative departments of A3 and you first, we have doubled the size of our agency and added possibilities in sports representation, marketing, data and events.

What is your next expansion location?

We try to further grow Gersh Sports and our core companies through acquisitions and agent recruitments.

What does it mean to become president?

I am extremely proud to lead this incredible team. It is hard to believe that I am the first woman to lead a large talent agency. Something is very wrong with that. But I take that responsibility seriously and will continue to empower and develop female leaders between our agent, customer, partner and executive ranks.
