Leonardo DiCaprio misses film festival amid travel chaos in the Caribbean

DiCaprio would receive the Desert Palm Achievement Award for his role in Paul Thomas Anderson’s dark comic One battle after anotherwho follows a gang of left-wing militants.

A source said Daily mail that an announcement was made about the actor’s absence.

“It was a beautiful moment in the room, though,” the source shared with the outlet. “A wonderful tribute from his co-stars and a great film.”

Despite not attending the awards ceremony in person, DiCaprio still accepted his award via video.

The insider told the outlet that his speech was a “hit,” and received applause from the audience.

His physical absence from the Palm Springs International Film Festival was also confirmed in a statement Term.

“Leonardo DiCaprio cannot be present in person tonight due to unexpected travel disruptions and limited airspace,” the organization said.

“While we will miss celebrating with him in person, we are honored to recognize his exceptional work and lasting contributions to cinema,” she added. “His talent and dedication to the profession continue to inspire, and we are thrilled to celebrate him tonight with the Desert Palm Achievement Award.”
