Lena Waithe, Brandon Flynn star in LGBTQ Documentary Reclaim de Vlag
Lena Waithe and Brandon Flynn are one of those who will be shown in “Reclaim the Flag”, a 30 -minute discount on the American flag.
The film, directed by designer Alexis Bittar and produced by Oscar winner Bruce Cohen and Bittar, investigates how the flag can be recovered as a symbol of unity for all Americans, with a focus on the LGBTQ community.

The trailer for the film, released on Tuesday morning, opens with the words and a voice -over in which it is asked: “What symbolizes the American flag for you?”
Waithe says in the trailer: “Depending on how the United States think about you, will depend on how you think about the flag.”
“What do I think about the United States?” Asks songwriter and producer Troter. “She is messy, she is scary, she is beautiful.”
Flynn is worried in the clip: “Deleting a lot of strange progress [is] happens just before our eyes. “
“Will & Harper” star and comic writer Harper Steele says: “I feel that we are being attacked now.”
Content maker Matt Bernstein says with a smile: “When I see on Grindr and I see and I see an American flag emoji in someone’s bio, I think that’s a republican.”
“In the past decade, the American flag has increasingly become a symbol of division. I wanted to make a documentary about recovering all Americans – by bringing 50 leaders from the LGBTQ+ community together to share their reflections and hope,” Bittar said. “Speaking with a historically marginalized group offered a powerful lens for shaping a blueprint to usable steps to win the flag back.”
Cohen added: “We are deeply grateful to the extraordinary group of artists and activists who participated in this film.
Jason Weinberg and Mickalene Thomas also serve as executive producers, together with co -producers Arianne Phillips, Frank Godchaux and Steve Madden.
The film makes his debut on “Reclaim the flag” YouTube channel on July 17 at 12 o’clock.
