Leak reveals Grok might soon edit your spreadsheets

Leked Code suggests that Xai is developing an advanced grock file editor with spreadsheet support, indicating the push of the company to compete with OpenAI, Google and Microsoft by AI -Copiloten in productivity tools.
“You can talk to grok and ask to help you while you edit the files!” writes Reverse Engineer Nima Owji, who leaked the finding.
WAN has contacted Xai to confirm the findings and learn more.
Xai has not explicitly detailed its strategy for pursuing interactive, multimodal AI workplaces, but it has dropped a series of announcements that indicate what the company thinks of these tools. In April 2025, Xai Grok Studio launched a workspace on split screen with which users can work with grok to generate documents, code, reports and browser games. It also launched the possibility of Make workplaces With which you can organize files and conversations in one place.
While OpenAi and Microsoft have similar tools, Google’s Gemini workspace for sheets, Docs and Gmail is the most important to building. The Google tools can edit documents and sheets and enable you to chat with Gemini while looking at whether processing documents. The difference is that Gemini workspace only works in Google’s own ecosystem.
It is not clear which types of files the editor of Xai can support, apart from spreadsheets, or that XAI is planning to build a complete productivity suite that could compete with Google Workspace or Microsoft 365.
If OWJI’s findings are true, the Advanced Editor would be a step in the direction of Elon Musk’s ambitions to make X a “Everything app” that includes documents, chat, payments and social media.
