“Law enforcement activity underway” at a home near her

A home in Arizona’s Guthrie neighborhood is under investigation in connection with her disappearance, police said late Friday night. Nancy, the mother of “Today” host Savannah Guthrie, has been missing for almost two weeks.

“Law enforcement activity is underway at a residence in the area of ​​E Orange Grove Rd & N First Ave in connection with the Guthrie case,” the Pima County Sheriff’s Department said in a statement about X. “Because this is a joint investigation at the request of the FBI, no additional information is available at this time.”

According to the New York TimesLocated in the Catalina Foothills neighborhood, the home is just a short drive from Nancy’s home and that of her oldest daughter, Annie, and her husband. A gray Range Rover at a nearby Culver’s is also under investigation, the Times reports, although it is unclear if it is linked to Guthrie. Investigators photographed something in the trunk of the car and a tow truck removed it from the scene.

On Thursday, the FBI announced it is increasing the reward to $100,000 for information that helps locate Nancy Guthrie or leads to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for her disappearance.

The agency also shared additional identifying details about a potential kidnapper, describing the suspect as “a male approximately 6 feet 10 to 6 feet tall with a medium build. In the video, he is seen wearing a black Ozark Trail Hiker Pack 50-gallon backpack,” according to a post on X from the FBI’s Phoenix bureau.

Earlier that week, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department told ABC News that an individual had been taken into custody for questioning in connection with the case, and that investigators were preparing to search a location linked to that individual. The person was later released.

Nancy Guthrie was reported missing on February 1 and on February 2, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department declared her disappearance a crime.

“We saw a number of things in the home that concern us,” Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos told reporters at the time. “We now believe, after processing that crime scene, that we do indeed have a crime scene, that we do indeed have a crime, and we are asking for the community’s help.”

Since her mother’s disappearance, Savannah Guthrie has posted several videos on social media addressing the kidnapper and asking the community to help in the search.

“So I just come to ask you, not just for your prayers, but wherever you are – even if you are far from Tuscon,” she said in a video message on February 9. “If you see anything, if you hear anything, if there is anything that seems strange to you, report it to the police. We are in an hour of desperation and we need your help.”
