‘Last Samurai Standing’ Netflix series adds Cast, reveals teaser

Netflix has unveiled a teaser and added new cast members to ‘Last Samurai’, the Japanese Samurai -Epos that will bow in November.
The series with six episodes is invoiced as “a tribute to the indomitable spirit of warriors who have experienced turbulent eras” and has earned an invitation for the screen on the screen of the 30th Busan International Film Festival, which adds festival prestige to the growing Lei of Asian content of the Straming-Giant.
Producer and Ster Okada Junichi, who also acts as an action planner, has expanded the cast of the ensemble for the deadly Battle Royale drama. Five new cast members have been unveiled: Hamada Gaku as Superintendent General Kawaji Toshiyoshi, Okazaki Taiiku as Keage Jinroku (a successor to the Kyohachi-Ryu School of Swordsmanship), Iura’s Secretary Arata Ayumui.
The newcomers join the previously announced star-studded lineup including Fujisaka Yumia, Kiyohara Kaya, Higashide Masahiro, Sometani Shota, Saotome Taichi, Endo Yuya, Fuchikami Yasushi, Jo Kairi, Yamada Takayuki, Ichinose Wataru, Yoshioka Riho, Ninomiya Kazunari, Tamaki Hiroshi and Ito Hideaki.
Director Fujii Michihito, who works together with Okada, has made what promises to be a visual spectacle, especially clearly in the large-scale Melee series in Therryuji Temple. The set piece was filmed for several days and required more than 1,000 cast and crew members to perform.
“The action is epic,” said production motions, with Fujii and Okada “that tell the limits of visual stories, combine modern CG preface to deliver some of the most realistic and visceral action scenes that can ever be seen in Japanese television.”
The series is based on Imamura Shogo’s “Ikusagami” series of novels, published by Kodansha Bunko. In addition to Yamaguchi Kento and Yamamoto Toru, Fujii directs with scenario tasks that are treated by Fujii, Yamaguchi and Yashiro Risa.
The production team consists of music composer Ohmama Takashi, cinematographers Imamura Keisuke and Yamada Hiroki and production designer Miyamori Yui. Miyamoto Masae treated costume design, while Yokoishi Jun accompanied VFX work.
Executive producer Takahashi Shinichi and producer Oshida Kosuke round the most important production team for Office Shime, with Netflix planning and production tasks.
The series will premiere on November 13 on Netflix.
