Lainey Wilson goes solo as a host of 2025 CMA Awards

Lainey Wilson has been named host of the 2025 Country Music Association Awards on ABC-DIT years alone dealing with those tasks, after being set one of the three co-hosts for the previous year.
Producers who choose the country star as the only pilot of the broadcast is a sign of how quickly her star rose and how dominant she is as an ambassador for country music at the moment. This will mark a rare event of an artist who has been nominated for most trophies in a broadcast awards show that is also the host of that show. Wilson goes to this year’s CMAs and is connected to Ella Laney and Megan Moroney for most Noms, with six each.
It is only the second time in the last 22 years that the CMAs have gone with a Solo -Gastheer. The previous copy came when Luke Bryan only took the Teugels for the 2021 broadcast. It had not happened before Vince Gill was the only host for the show for a long term that lasted from 1994 to 2003.
In 2024, Wilson came on board as a third member of the hosting team and joined Bryan and Football Greatton Manning, who had been linked as a duo for the past two years.
“I grew up watching the CMA Awards as if it were the Super Bowl,” Wilson said in a statement, “so to host a true honor for a second year. I am humble that CMA has trusted me with this role, and I can’t wait to love this genre that so much has given me.”
The 59th annual show is broadcast live on ABC from the Bridgestone Arena of Nashville on November 19 at 8 p.m. It will be available to stream the next day at Hulu.
If Wilson had to stay as a host for years, she will have a few role models that she could follow boots, insofar as she yields many consecutive years that the broadcast are broadcasting.
The aforementioned gill had a long period as a host with his 10-year-old run. But the hosts who have taken the largest number of years in the role were Carrie Underwood, who took on the role of 2008 to 2019, followed by Brad Paisley, who was organized with Underwood for the first 11 of those 12 years. (In her 13th year, Underwood was co -organized with Reba Mentire and Dolly Parton.)
The prices that Wilson is for this year are the main prize, entertainer of the year, which she previously won in a surprise victory in 2023, the first time she was nominated. She is considered a leading favorite to reclaim it this time, given her recent success that her first headlining Arena tour tours. (Last year she was nominated for the Top Award a second time, but lost to Morgan Wallen, who did not show up to claim the prize.)
In addition to the weather for Entertainer of the Year, Wilson’s other five nominations this year are in the categories for female vocalist of the year; Single of the year and song of the year (both for “4x4xu”); Album of the year (for “whirlwind”); And music video of the year (for “Some over Laredo”, a single recorded in the luxury version of “Whirlwind”).
“Whirlwind” is only Wilson’s third major label album, after she started climbing her career with 2021’s “Sayin” What I Thinkin. ” A small recurring role in the hit TV series “Yellowstone” caused a boost in her rise to fame. For the past five years she has had eight top 5 hits in the Country AirPlay list, five of those as a solo artist and three as a highlighted duet partner.
