Lady Gaga Sets Cameo for ‘Wednesday’ Season 2

Lady Gaga will appear in Wednesday’s Season 2 Variety has confirmed this with sources.

The exact nature of Gaga’s role is still being kept under wraps, but sources say it will be a cameo during the second season of the mega-hit Netflix show, which is currently filming in Ireland. Sources say the production team had tried to get Gaga on the show for a bigger role in season 2, but that ultimately didn’t work out.

Netflix representatives did not immediately respond Variety‘s request for comment. Gaga’s representatives declined to comment.

This marks the latest acting role for Gaga, who is best known for her groundbreaking music career. Most recently, she starred in “Joker: Folie à Deux” opposite Joaquin Phoenix. She was previously nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actress for her role opposite Bradley Cooper in ‘A Star Is Born’. She has also been nominated three times for best original song, including one for “A Star Is Born,” and won that award for her work on the song “Hold My Hand” from “Top Gun: Maverick.” Gaga also appeared in films such as ‘House of Gucci’ and several seasons of ‘American Horror Story’.

She is represented by CAA, Grubman Shire Meiselas & Sacks and ID PR.

‘Wednesday’ star Jenna Ortega had mentioned it before Variety that “I’m sure Netflix would love” Gaga to appear in the new season of the series after a dance scene from “Wednesday” episode 4 blew up on TikTok after it was remixed to Gaga’s “Bloody Mary.”

Ortega will once again star in season 2 as beloved “Addams Family” character Wednesday Addams, while Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzmán, Isaac Ordonez and Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo have all been upgraded to series regulars.

Zeta-Jones plays Morticia, while Guzmán plays Gomez and Ordonez plays Pugsley. Emma Myers, Joy Sunday, Hunter Doohan, Victor Dorobantu, Moosa Mostafa and Georgie Farmer will also return, as will Fred Armisen and Jamie McShane in guest roles. Other regulars from the new series include Steve Buscemi, Billie Piper, Evie Templeton, Owen Painter and Noah Taylor. Thandiwe Newton will guest star, as will actors like Christopher Lloyd and Haley Joel Osment.

“Wednesday” originally debuted in November 2022 and immediately became a huge hit for Netflix. It ranks as the most-watched English-language show the streamer has ever released and was nominated for twelve Emmys, four of which it won. Work on season 2 was postponed due to the writers’ and actors’ strikes that shut down much of Hollywood in 2023.

Entertainment Weekly first reported Gaga’s casting.
