When a product is this good, it’s hard to stop talking about it! That’s why Kyle Richards and I can’t keep quiet about this tinted sunscreen — Sofia Richie-Grainge loves it too.
Considering the huge celebrity support, I had high expectations when I first tried it out EltaMD UV Clear Tinted Sunscreen for Face at the beginning of this summer. I mean, Richards rarely goes into her Amazon is alive without talking about it in any way, shape, or form. This also applies to her latest live stream about her beach essentials and hair live stream spring break where she called it “the absolute best.”
It has also been recommended by several other A-listers such as Richie-Grainge, Hailey Bieber And Kourtney Kardashian – so I knew it had to be good. After three months of testing, the sunscreen has cemented its place as a regular part of my beauty routine, not only because of how well it protects my skin, but also because of how well it matches my makeup.

With this sunscreen for the facemy skin hasn’t seen a sunburn all summer thanks to the SPF of 46 and the micronized zinc oxide base, which protects my face from UVA and UVB rays. However, it does so much more than that. In a celebrity-approved mineral formula, it contains ingredients for healthy skin, including 5% niacinamide for blemishes and discoloration, hyaluronic acid for hydration and vitamin E to smooth wrinkles and fine lines.
But that’s not all! My favorite part of the sunscreen, which kicked all my others to the curb, is the face-smoothing tint. It literally acts as an IRL filter for the skin, correcting its color, smoothing it and giving it some color to bring it to life. It matches my foundation well, but it has made me confident enough to put on the makeup some days too.
Another thing about the sunscreen that I love, and that I have to assume celebrities do too, is how safe it is to wear. It does not contain bad substances such as parabens, dyes, fragrances and oils and is hypoallergenic, non-comedogenic and dermatologically tested. It is even recommended by the Skin Cancer Foundation for daily use. The brand recommends applying every two hours if you’re in the sun, which I also found to be quite accurate for my usage.
The sunscreen coming in at $45 for the 1.7 oz bottle, which is a bit on the pricier side, but for its effectiveness and celebrity and editor support, it’s well worth the splurge. A little goes a long way, so the bottle should last you a few months before you need to refill it. Soon you will join the rest of Us by also recommending it to everyone you meet.
