King Charles was persuaded to take two doctors on a royal tour

Charles told the New Zealand women’s rugby team at a reception at Buckingham Palace last month that he regretted he would not be able to visit their country as part of his upcoming tour: “I am very sorry that I cannot come to New Zealand in later October – it’s on doctor’s orders.”

Charles’ daughter-in-law Kate Middleton, 42, who is married to his eldest son Prince William, also 42, recently opened up about being cancer-free.

She completed preventative treatment for the disease after cancer cells were found following abdominal surgery in January.

The royal mother of three – who has children Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, nine, and six-year-old Prince Louis – went under the knife with William at the London Clinic at the same time Charles was having surgery for an enlarged prostate in the setting.

After the operation it turned out that he had cancer.
