King Charles gives Kate a ‘brutal’ ultimatum amid marital disaster

The king is said to believe that Kate is in a unique position to assuage William’s anger.

“Charles believes that when William becomes emotionally charged, Kate is the one voice that still cuts through. He knows his son’s temperament well and believes that calming the situation will require a level of patience and diplomacy that only she can provide.”

Tensions remain high following the publication of Harry’s memoirs Savepublished in 2023, alleging that William physically assaulted him during an argument that began when William apparently called 44-year-old Meghan Markle “difficult,” “rude” and “abrasive.”

Another source said Charles is urging Kate to “help narrow the gap” with Meghan.

“Charles doesn’t expect warmth or friendship,” the insider added.

“What he is asking for is a visible good faith effort. He accepts that William will not take that step and that Camilla has no intention of doing so, leaving Kate the only person who can demonstrate that willingness.”

Charles and Kate are said to share a close bond, which was strengthened after both were diagnosed with cancer.

The king has publicly called her his ‘beloved daughter-in-law’ and ‘dear daughter-in-law’.

“Charles is genuinely saddened by the division in his family,” a palace source said.

“The thought of his sons remaining estranged weighs heavily on him, and he believes that even a modest change in tone now, led by Kate, could spare the family years of further damage, regardless of the disruption it may cause at the time.”
