King Charles’ cancer battle: everything you need to know
Days after Buckingham Palace first revealed his health problem, King Charles wrote a personal statement addressing his battle.
His message on February 10 read: ‘I would like to express my sincere thanks for the many messages of support and good wishes I have received in recent days.
“As anyone affected by cancer will know, such kind thoughts are the greatest comfort and encouragement.”
Revealing why he would like to be open about the dreaded disease, King Charles added: ‘It is equally encouraging to hear how sharing my own diagnosis has helped to promote public understanding and shine a light shine a light on the work of all those organizations supporting cancer patients and their families in the UK and around the world. My lifelong admiration for their tireless care and dedication is all the greater because of my own personal experience.”
In August, King Charles shared an update during his visit to Southport Town Hall.
He told a royal fan: “I’m not that bad.”
