Keshet International to sell drama ‘Nutuk’ from ‘Tehran’ Creative Team

Keshet International has made a supernatural drama on board “Nutuk” by Roy Iddan (“Tehran”) and Nahd Basheir (“A Dead Zee”).

The series, which shot in Arabic and Hebrew language, revolves around a boy whose memories of a different life help solve a murder mystery. It is directed by Adam Sanderson (“Absentia”) and produced by YOAV Gross Productions for the Keshet 12 channel that will broadcast the series on Primetime in October.

“Memories of a previous life – or reincarnation – is a phenomenon that is found in many societies that include countless religious, spiritual and cultural traditions,” said Kelly Wright, head of the distribution of Keshet International. She says that the show has a “worldwide resonance”, because “more than two billion people around the world can somehow relate to the concept.”

“For many it is a system of cosmic justice; for others a source of comfort and hope beyond death,” she said, adding that in “Nutuk”, “reincarnation serves as the emotional and narrative engine that drives an exciting research story.” Keshet International introduces the series to buyers at MipCom.

“Nutuk” is led by a cast consisting of Jude Khatib, a newcomer who plays the leading role, and stars next to Lucy Ayoub (“Fauda”), Amgad Badr (“Fauda”), NAHD Basheir and Suliman Khiradin.

Khatib plays as the seven -year -old Daniel who starts to have visions that attribute to his parents to a childish fantasy. But when Daniel is starting to have more and more visions about what lively memories of previous lives, his parents understand that their son may undergo “Nutuk” – what “reincarnation” means in the Druze community. Daniel’s visions point to the unsolved disappearance of a man named Ali Khiradin who, according to him, was murdered. The Fares family delves into a criminal conspiracy that the perpetrators have tried to be buried for years – and will stop nothing to protect.
