Kenan Thompson suggests that ‘a lot of change’ comes for ‘SNL’

For a long time “Saturday Night Live” Castlid Kenan Thompson hints on some major changes in Studio 8h.

In a recent conversation with Page sixThompson said that the cast of the productive Late-Night Sketch Show can shift while “SNL” is preparing for his 51st season.

“Especially this year where it feels like there might, possibly, a lot of change next year,” Thompson explained. “You want everyone to stay forever, knowing that people make decisions this summer … It is always as if you want your children to stay young.”

Thompson has appeared in more seasons than any cast member in the history of the show at the age of 22. Although he has not registered for his 23rd, he keeps open about returning to “SNL”.

“You just never know what the future has in store,” he said. “I don’t want to stand in the way of someone else or I don’t want to be the old man who drives the same. That doesn’t really happen to ‘SNL’, but there are no guarantees, I think.”

He claimed that “SNL” is still one of his favorite places “, despite his decades of dedication to the show.

Thompson has always been an avid defender of “SNL” and recently came to defend the show after musical guest Morgan Wallen abruptly walked out of the stage during the cast curtain call. Some interpreted the viral moment as a sign of lack of respect.

“I don’t know what’s going through the spirit of people when they decide to do things like that,” said Thompson. “I don’t know if he understood the assignment or not, or if he really felt a certain way.”
