Our insider added: “Kate and William are usually on the same page, but Harry has always been a sensitive subject.

“William started to feel as if Kate did not place clear limits, and that caused tension.

“She came to see that trying to repair something that goes beyond her control, it was not worth putting her marriage under pressure.”

The decision comes when Kate continues her gradual return to public life after her diagnosis and treatment of cancer earlier this year.

Last week she withdrew from a performance at Royal Ascot after attending the color and a visit to the V&A East Storehouse Museum, with priority to her health and recovery.

Sources say that Kate had hoped to see Harry during his visit to London in May, when he appeared in court to fulfill the refusal of the British government to offer security funded by the state.

But those plans were suspended.

“The timing was just not good,” said our source. “The tensions were high and William was firmly against it.”

In a BBC interview after his failed legal bid in his security leg, Harry gave his father King Charles, 76, blamed by cancer, the decision, and also moaned: “He will not talk to me because of this security stuff, but it would be nice to reconcile.

“I don’t know how long my father has.”
