Kate Gosselin defends the sending of son Collin to an institution for mental health care

Collin opened in 2023 that his time in the ‘Mentaal’ facility took a toll.
“It was a very, very dark place. Everything I had was myself. I had no one else. You know, I had no support system. It was scary. I was confused. I was lost,” he described on Vice TVs Dark side of the 2000s.
Collin fought back against the allegations of his mother about the docuseries and claimed that she locked him up to hide her alleged abuse.
“I started telling people what was going on at home and, you know, she caught the wind and had to place me somewhere where I couldn’t get the secrets,” he unfortunately described.
The former American maritime trainee claimed that Kate loved him from his brothers and sisters and withheld in an “inclusion room” in her house in Pennsylvania in a 2024 interview.
“When my mother would put me in that room several times, she had bound my hands and feet together and locked the door, turned the lights out and had cameras that just watched me,” Collin claimed the room that only had a mattress on the floor.
“So most of the day I was in that room, and I loved my brothers and sisters, and I never really went outside. I never played with them. I was kept there. It was literally enclosed,” he added.
