Karen Read was not guilty of killing Boston Cop friend John O’Keefe

The jury has reached a judgment in Karen Read’s Nieuwspaar for the murder in 2022 on her friend, Boston police officer John O’Keefe, Radaronline.com.

After four days of deliberation, jury members did not read to a second -degree murder, the most serious crime she was confronted, and not guilty of leaving the scene of an accident that resulted in death.

Read was found guilty of drunk driving, which was one of the smaller accusations with which she was confronted.

Read supporters dressed in pink broken out

While the judgment before the court was read aloud, Read, who was dressed in a powder blue suit, emotional and seemed to cry when she hugged members of her defense team and other supporters in the courtroom.

Outside the Norfolk Superior Courthouse, a crowd of reading assistants, dressed in her favorite pink color, broke out in cheers and applause.

Because read is acquitted of her most serious indictment, she will not spend time behind bars.

Because Read is a first perpetrator for the conviction of driving under the influence, Judge Beverly Cannone agreed to the recommendation of the Commonwealth of a year of probation.

Read and her team flashed the ASL board for ‘I Love You’ for fans who were collected outside.

While the jubilant crowd of reading assistants eagerly waited for her to leave the courthouse, they began to sing “Justice for John”, “Karen Read is free” and “Morrissey Sucks,” in reference to Norfolk County District Attorney Michael Morrissey, who reproaches against reading.

The crowd also seemed to say that the bank’s right cannon was being removed.

Supporters became wild when Read finally appeared on the steps of the courthouse and the sign flashes for “I Love You” in the American Sign Language to the crowd of fans who were collected outside.

Read thanked her supporters for their support in her first explanation since the non -culprit judgment.

In her first statement since the non -culprit judgment was announced, Read thanked her legal team and “great” supporters while he insisted that “no one has fought for justice” for her deceased boyfriend more than she and her defense team.

Read said the crowd: “I could not stand here without these great supporters who supported me and my team financially and more importantly, emotionally almost four years.

“Nobody fought harder for justice for John O’Keefe than me. Then I and my team.”

Read’s father Bill praised the power of his daughter and thanked her legal team.

After read -addressed supporters, her father Bill Read and praised her strength during the introduction of eight weeks.

Bill said: “I want to recognize the power of our daughter, Karen, the support of the whole read extensive family”, before he expanded his gratitude for “the largest team of lawyers”.

He continued: “We thank everyone for their support from the heart. We love you all. All content providers, you helped spread the word. Thank you very much. God bless you all.”

Read has maintained her innocence since she was initially accused of manslaughter on 1 February 2022. The indictment was later upgraded to second -degree murder by a large jury in June 2022.

Officers of Justice claimed that reading intentionally O’Keefe touched her Lexus SUV after a night out and left him to die outside when a snowstorm approached.

The defense team claimed that Read was the victim of a biased investigation and was framed by the police.

Her first trial started in April 2024 and ended in a mistrial because of a hung jury on July 1 after five days after consultation.
