Justin Hartley’s Colter Shaw reveals on Tracker why he isn’t married yet

Justin Hartley‘s Colter Shaw Made a Rare Revelation on CBS’ Follower about why he’s still not married.
During the Sunday, November 9, episode of the show, Colter’s next case took him to a lawless desert town in Arizona, where a man went missing. Colter’s investigation uncovered a hidden relationship that left him trapped alone in the wilderness. He found his way back to the city and so he started working with the chief of the police station.
“No, I’m not married,” he explained. “I never had room for it.”
While Colter was asked if he “had a few close calls” that would have sent him down the marriage path, the survivalist avoided answering the question. This isn’t the first time Colter has commented on his personal life, albeit without many details and despite prioritizing his career.
Season 2 brought Colter’s love interest Billie (Sofia Pernas) back into his life before being asked if he had anyone he considered The One. Colter avoided that question, which came up two episodes after he hooked up with Billie.
Pernas, 36, originally joined her husband’s new show when it premiered in 2024. FollowerHartley, 48, worked with Pernas The young and the restless in 2015. Years later, they reconnected off-screen and exchanged vows in 2021. They also worked together on the short-lived Quantum Leap restart

“She’s amazing. I mean, if I had the choice, I would spend every minute with her,” Hartley told Us Weekly in July 2024 about working with his wife. “What’s really cool is when you meet someone who means so much to you, that you’re so proud of and so proud of, and that you’re such a fan of, and to see her work, because she’s such a talented actor. She takes scenes to the next level, and so it actually makes my job easier. But yeah, it’s just great to work with her.”
While Hartley did not confirm how often Pernas would return to the series, he recently discussed the highlights that come with working with his wife.
“I enjoy being with her. I’m having the time of my life on this show,” Hartley told USA Today earlier this year. “I love it. When you can share it with the people you love, it makes it even better.”
Executive producer Elwood Reid recently confirmed to Us that Pernas will return in Season 3, saying in October, “She’s coming back. We’ve got a really good, spicy midseason finale and Billie’s coming back in the winter premiere.”
Just because Perna reprises her role as Billie doesn’t mean Colter will finally settle down.
“It’s tricky because he’s never in one place for very long. These are conversations I have with Justin all the time. One thing I think that makes the show work is that early in each episode you get an emotional hook with Colter about wanting to help the person who asked him for help,” Reid explained. “It feels weird when he says, ‘Hey, wait a minute, I’m going to have a five-minute booty call in the middle of the episode.’ So that’s something we didn’t do.”
Follower airs on CBS on Sundays at 8:30 PM ET. New episodes stream the next day on Paramount+.
