Julian McMahon Dead: ‘NIP/TUCK’ star was 56

Julian McMahon, the Suave Australian actor who is best known for his performances on “FBI: Most Wanted”, “Charmed”, “Nip/Tuck” and the early Aughts “Fantastic Four” films, died. He was 56.
McMahon’s death was confirmed by the official “NIP/Tuck” Facebook page. The memory post was: “Warner Bros. Television mourns for the loss of our friend Julian McMahon. Our thoughts are with his family, friends, colleagues and fans.”
McMahon started to start with a series of Australian TV soap, including “The Power, The Passion” and “Home and Away”. He made his film debut and played a lifeguard in the comedy ‘Wet and Wild Summer’ from 1992, together with Elliott Gould and Christopher Atkins.
One of McMahon’s first American TV jobs was an arc with 22 episodes on the NBC Soap Opera ‘Another World’. He then landed a recurring role on another NBC program, “Profiler”, before he broke out as Cole Turner on “Charmed”. He played in three seasons of the supernatural teenage drama.
McMahon’s first major leading role in television was in Ryan Murphy’s Campy Plastic Surgery series “NIP/Tuck”, which ran for six seasons on FX. He played as Dr. Christian Troy, a feminine and arrogant surgeon, who worked with Dylan Walsh’s More Milquetoast Dr. Sean McNamara. He earned a Golden Globe nomination for the role in 2005.
Years after the FX series was McMahon’s next major TV roll on ‘FBI: Most Wanted’, where he played Jesse Lacroix, a special agent of supervisor who accompanied younger members of his team. He joined the series in 2020 and played in 43 episodes before he went in 2022.
“Some shocking news,” Dick Wolf, producer of “FBI: Most Wanted,” said in a statement. “We are all deeply sad at Wolf Entertainment by the death of Julian and our condolences go to his whole family.”
The other TV credits from McMahon include “full circle”, “Hunters”, “Runaways” and “The Residence.”
The most famous film role of McMahon was playing the villain Dom Doom in Tim Story’s “Fantastic Four” from 2005 and the sequel “Rise of the Silver Surfer” from 2007.
