John Mellencamp Says Daughter Teddi Is ‘Really Sick’ and ‘Suffering’ – Amid ‘RHOBH’ Star’s Stage 4 Cancer Battle

Famous singer John Mellencamp has revealed that his daughter is the star of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.” Teddiis still “very ill” and “currently suffering” amid her stage 4 cancer battle – three months after she revealed there were “no detectable signs” of the disease in her body.
The ‘Hurts So Good’ hitmaker, 74, opened up about his daughter’s devastating diagnosis when he appeared on the latest episode of Joe Rogan‘s popular podcast.
While Teddi, 44, shared a positive update with her fans and followers in October 2025 — three years after she was diagnosed with cancer — Mellencamp said his daughter’s battle has not stopped, explaining that she is in the middle of a particularly difficult period in her ongoing treatment.
“It’s not fun. She has cancer in the brain and she is suffering now,” he told Rogan. the show.
In October, Teddi surprised fans when she revealed her cancer had “gone” during her own podcast:Two T’s in a Pod”, which showed that her latest scans had produced very encouraging results.

“Just to give you a little life update, I had my immunotherapy yesterday and I had my scans done and at the moment there is no detectable cancer. When they told me I was in such shock. I was numb,” she said at the time.
However, “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star noted that the results did not mark the end of her battle, adding, “I’m still going to have days where I feel sick and stuff because I’m still on immunotherapy, so I’m still fighting because I have to.”
“I’m not considered to be in remission or anything like that [doctors] said it works, it’s about a year, then two years, and after three years you can be considered… in remission. But that was big news yesterday.”
The Bravo star initially revealed that she had been diagnosed with stage 2 melanoma in 2022, but in February 2025, she shared that the melanoma had spread and doctors found several tumors in her brain.
Mellencamp’s shocking health revelation came just over a year after she underwent surgery to treat her stage 2 melanoma.
In December 2023, Mellencamp revealed that she was recovering from “wide excision melanoma” and “soft tissue defect reconstruction,” a procedure in which the affected skin was removed from her shoulder and “replaced with a flap of skin from below on my back.”
She explained that she was diagnosed after going to hospital for treatment for “severe and debilitating headaches” that had been bothering her for “several weeks.”
“After a CT scan and MRI, doctors found multiple tumors in my brain, which they believe have been growing for at least six months,” she wrote, adding that doctors would attempt to remove the two largest tumors in an initial procedure, before addressing the rest “via radiation at a later date.”

“I am blessed to be surrounded by my children, family, friends, doctors, nurses and surgeons who are doing everything they can to help me get better again,” she added.
The diagnosis marked the latest bump in a difficult few years for Mellencamp; she shared the stage 4 cancer update just three months after announcing she was getting divorced Edwin Arroyaveher husband of 13 years, who revealed at the time that she was temporarily moving in with her good friend Kyle Richards‘Home for a few evenings a week.
She explained that she would live with Kyle occasionally so that her children could continue to live in their family home while she and Arroyave worked out their co-parenting arrangement. On the nights she cared for the kids, she stayed at home, but when her ex-husband was parenting, he was there.
Still, the divorce didn’t stop Arroyave, 47, from rushing to his estranged wife’s bedside, posting a photo of himself posing with Teddi and sharing prayers for a speedy recovery.
Teddi, who shares three children with Arroyave-Slate12, Cruz10, and Pigeon4 – was also joined at the hospital by Kyle, 56.
The reality star first revealed that she was “living at Kyle’s” on a Dec. 5 episode of her podcast “Diamonds in the Rough” with a fellow Bravo star Erika Jaynesaying at the time, “Luckily Kyle let me do that.”
She added that because her and Arroyave’s marital home — which they bought for $6.5 million in 2020 — is so close to Kyle’s own Encino property, she can “just drive by” when she needs to, noting that the living arrangement “works out really well for the kids.”
