John Krasinski named sexiest man alive for 2024
John Krasinski has been crowned People’s Sexiest Man Alive for 2024.
The news was announced on Tuesday evening during ‘The Late Show With Stephen Colbert’.
“Basically just an instant blackout. No thoughts,” Krasinski said People about his reaction when he heard he would receive the honor this year. “Except maybe I’m being tricked. That’s not the way I wake up and think, “Is this the day I’m asked to be the sexiest man alive?” And yet it was the day you did it. You have really raised the bar for me.”
According to Krasinski, his wife Emily Blunt was “very excited” when she heard the news. “There was a lot of joy in telling it,” he told People in this week’s cover story.
Krasinski is known for his role as paper salesman Jim Halpert in the American version of the mockumentary sitcom ‘The Office’ and the titular CIA analyst in the Prime Video series ‘Jack Ryan’. He also directed, wrote and starred in 2018’s ‘A Quiet Place’ and its 2020 sequel.
This year, Krasinski starred, wrote, produced and directed “IF,” a fantasy comedy that follows neighbors Cal and Bea (Ryan Reynolds and Cailey Fleming), who can see other people’s imaginary friends. He also produced the apocalyptic horror film ‘A Quiet Place: Day One’, starring Lupita Nyong’o and Joseph Quinn.
People’s Sexiest Man Alive has been an annual event for the magazine since the award’s inception in 1985 with inaugural winner Mel Gibson. Last year’s winner was Patrick Dempsey, while other recent winners include Chris Evans, Michael B. Jordan, Paul Rudd, John Legend and Idris Elba.
The issue of the sexiest man alive, featuring an interview with Krasinski, hits newsstands Friday.
