JK Rowling praises Harry Potter series, worked ‘accurately’ with writers

With the “Harry Potter” series from HBO near a starting date of production, JK Rowling has transferred to X to give the series its full support. She confirmed that she “works closely with the extremely talented writers” in the show, although she will not get any writing credits as she has in the films “Fantastic Beasts”.
“I read the first two episodes of the upcoming HBO ‘Harry Potter’ series and they are so good!” Rowling was also posted.
HBO made it clear from the start that Rowling would be involved in a certain capacity in bringing her iconic literary series on the screen again, this time as a television series, where every book will treat a season of TV. Casey Bloys, CEO of the network, previously said reporters that Rowling “was very, very involved in the process” of selecting showrunner Francesca Gardiner and director Mark Mylod to lead the “Harry Potter” TV series.
Rowling has praised controversy since 2020 for regular sharing of beliefs on social media that, according to many, are transphobic. The author also uses platforms such as X to regularly troll her critics and to focus on public figures (such as hitting John Oliver’s comments about transatletes). Both HBO and the new cast “Harry Potter” have received a return to go to the company with Rowling because of her anti-trans posts.
Bloys said that Rowling’s anti-translations “have not influenced the casting or hiring writers or production staff” for the show. He appeared on “The Town” Podcast In May and emphasizes fans “Harry Potter” that the upcoming series of the network will not be “drenched” with the controversial views of Rowling about the transgender community.
“The decision to do business with JK Rowling is not new to us. We have been in business for 25 years,” said Bloys. “We already have a show on HBO from her called ‘CB Strike’ that we do with the BBC. It is quite clear that her personal, political views are. She has the right to them. ‘Harry Potter’ is not secretly penetrated with something. And if you want to debate her, you can go on Twitter.”
Dominic McLaughlin, Arabella Stanton and Alastair Stout are headliner of the “Harry Potter” series of HBO as Potter, Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley. The supporting cast will display John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore, Janet MCTeer as Minerva McGonagall, Paapa Essiedu as, among others, Severus Sneep and Nick Frost as a rubus Hagrid.
Rowling made the headlines in May because she said she would not dismiss Essiedu after he had signed an open letter in which the British Supreme Court was convicted of a statement that transgender women are not legally considered to be women and transgender men are not legally considered men.
“I don’t have the power to dismiss an actor from the series and I wouldn’t practice it if I did,” Rowling wrote on X while sharing an article about Essiedu. “I don’t believe in taking the jobs or the existence of people because they have legally protected beliefs that differ from mine.”
The “Harry Potter” series is expected to go into production later this year for a premiere somewhere in 2026.
