Jessica Simpson spent Thanksgiving with ex Eric Johnson
Jessica Simpson and ex-husband Eric Johnson continue to remain amicable after their divorce and spend the Thanksgiving holiday together.
Speak Unpleasant TMZ on Friday, November 28, the 45-year-old singer confirmed that Johnson attended her family’s Thanksgiving celebrations. (Simpson and Johnson, 45, share three children: Maxwell, 13, Ace, 12, and Birdie, 6.)
“We were all at my mom’s yesterday,” Simpson told the outlet.
When asked if that included Johnson, Simpson replied: “Of course. That’s the father of my children.”
Simpson said “all their grandparents” were also at the Thanksgiving event. She added, “Family first.”
The “Breadcrumbs” singer shared her perspective on how to handle co-parenting after a breakup, emphasizing that respect for each other is crucial.
‘No matter what, your child is half of the other person, and [you should] always respect what you say around them so they can always have a good perspective on it,” she explained, adding, “Unconditional love is important.”
Simpson and Johnson announced their divorce in January after ten years of marriage.
“Eric and I have been living apart and dealing with a painful situation in our marriage,” Simpson told Us Weekly in a statement at the time. “Our children come first and we focus on what is best for them. We are grateful for all the love and support that has come our way, and appreciate privacy as we work through this as a family.”

During the flight, Simpson and Johnson sat in the same row with an empty middle seat between them. Although their children did not accompany them on the trip, the trip was still a family affair as the couple headed out to visit Simpson’s sister. Ashlee performance in Vegas that same weekend.
In February 2025, Simpson confirmed this People that she and Johnson were still on good terms despite calling it quits.
“I don’t know why my heart flutters, but I’m one of the lucky ones,” she told the outlet. “At least I have my kids and I still have Eric. He is still a big part of my life and always will be.”

Simpson and Johnson met in May 2010 and the former NFL player popped the question just six months later. The couple tied the knot in July 2014 in front of friends and family in Montecito, California.
Since their divorce, Simpson admitted that she has been keeping an eye on younger men on the dating scene.
“I think I’m attracted to younger men at the moment,” she said Extra in October. “When you’re newly divorced… younger men feel a bit like an older woman’s confidence, I find.”
The “Blame Me” singer added, “I’m having fun!”
Simpson has also revived her music career following her split, releasing new music for the first time in September after a 15-year hiatus.
