Jerry Trainor went ‘nuclear’ in his audition for Crazy Steve

Jerry Trainor went all the way in the audition for his breakout roll by Crazy Steve on the Nickelodeon -classic “Drake and Josh”.
During a discussion on GalaxyTrainor explained how he landed the role of Crazy Steve, an aggressive temperamental cinema employee who would explode on fellow cast members Drake Bell and Josh Peck with the least discomfort.
“When I did an audition for Crazy Steve, it was already cast. Someone else was already cast as a crazy Steve,” Trainor explained. “But I think when he came to the set, he was not crazy enough for them, and so she fired him.”
Trainor was brought in for a “Rush Audition”, which meant that the “Drake and Josh” casting directors had to play the role as quickly as possible.
At that moment he said about his acting experience: “You have to understand it, I had just come from the university, with the main subject in the theater, where they tell me to find it, to put it off, bring it, to drop it. Subtext, subtext, subtext.”
During the audition, trainor said that he was playing the character for the first time as “calm and then I fly from the handle.” The casting director, however, wanted more and said to him, “Oh my God, can you get bigger?” “Trainer mandatory.
‘And so I did it, more turretly, and she is going:’ Can you get crazier? “And I went:” Let me stop you there. “” What do you want? “She had something like” as large as possible. ” And I am something like: “You don’t want that.” And she goes, “literally, that’s what we need.” And I had something like: “Ok, here it’s.” And I did it. The rest is history. “
Trainor first appeared as Crazy Steve in season 2 “Drake and Josh” and appeared in eight total episodes. He also played the eccentric brother of internet -Superster Carly Shay in another Nickelodeon -not, “Icarly.” That show ran before 93 episodes in six seasons from 2007-2012.
