Jerry “The Iceman” ButlerA legendary R&B singer and ancient Illinois politician, died.
MartyJerry’s assistant and ‘Nicht at Heart’, says TMZ … He died of natural causes on Thursday evening in his house in Chicago. Marty notes that Jerry suffered from Parkinson’s disease.
She further says: “A great man moved to heaven. Our loss here on earth.”
Butler was the singer of the R&B group the impressions – including inclusive Curtis Mayfield. As a member of the group, he was admitted to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1991.
Jerry has had an incredibly successful solo career, with hits like “Only the Strong Survive” and “Never Give Up”.
Jerry had a remarkable career in politics, who served as a Cooky Cooky Commissioner, Illinois from 1985 to 2018. As a member of the County Board, he was chairman of the Health and Hospitals Committee and was vice chairman of the building committee.
He was 85.
