Jenn Lyon builds Underdog Cheer Squad in NBC comedy

The ladies of “Palm Royale” make their scandalous return in a new trailer from Apple TV.

The comedy series returns for its second season on November 12 with the first episode, followed by one weekly episode until January 14, 2026. Season 2 from creator and executive producer Abe Sylvia follows Maxine who left as a social pariah after a scandalous public breakdown.

According to the official synopsis, “She will have to call on her deep well of cleverness and cunning to prove once and for all that not only does she belong, but that she may have what it takes to rule this city. Along the way, she will uncover untold truths and ultimately understand what this city is really built on… secrets, lies, and the occasional crime.”

The show stars Kristen Wiig and Laura Dern, who also serve as executive producers. They are joined by Allison Janney, Ricky Martin, Carol Burnett, Josh Lucas, Leslie Bibb, Amber Chardae Robinson, Mindy Cohn, Julia Duffy and Kaia Gerber. The ensemble cast also includes Claudia Ferri, Jason Canela, Jordan Bridges, James Urbaniak, Roberto Sanchez, Rick Cosnett and Ryan Dorsey.

Additionally, the second season will feature guest stars from John Stamos, Patti LuPone, Vicki Lawrence and Matt Rogers.

NBC has released the official trailer and first photos of Jenn Lyon as a real-life cheerleading coach in NBC’s comedy series “Stumble.”

The series is set in the world of competitive cheerleading, with the official logline describing it as “a mockumentary about the ridiculously high-stakes competitive world of junior college cheer.”

In addition to Lyon, the cast includes Taran Killam, Ryan Pinkston, Jarrett Austin Brown, Anissa Borrego, Arianna Davis, Taylor Dunbar and Georgie Murphy. Kristin Chenoweth will appear as a recurring guest star.

“Stumble” comes from writers and executive producers Jeff Astrof and Liz Astrof. Dana Honor also serves as executive producer through Defining Eve Productions, along with Monica Aldama, retired cheerleading coach and star of the Netflix docuseries “Cheer.” Jeff Blitz directed and produced the pilot. Universal Television is the studio.

The series premieres Friday, November 7 at 8:30 PM ET/PT on NBC. Episodes can be streamed the next day on Peacock.

HBO Max and Cartoon Network Studios have unveiled the first trailer for Season 2
“Adventure Time: Fionna and Cake,” will be released on HBO Max on October 23. The ten-episode season runs weekly through December 25.

Season 2 follows Fionna and Cake as they journey through the multiverse, where they must embark on new adventures as Huntress Wizard “embarks on a quest with fatal consequences.”

Oxygen has unveiled three trailers for a trio of series that will debut on the network on November 9. The night of great new programming kicks off with season three of “Snapped: Behind Bars,” “Killer Relationship with Faith Jenkins” and “Killer Grannies,” hosted by June Squibb.

The third season of “Snapped: Behind Bars” takes “viewers behind prison walls to meet convicted individuals from “Snapped” who are now willing to discuss their cases.

Season four of ‘Killer Relationship with Faith Jenkins’ focuses on complex relationships that end in untimely tragedy, with Jenkins providing her professional perspective on various issues.

“Killer Grannies” will “chronicle cases involving a killer no one would suspect: Grandma. Through gripping archival footage, selective recreations and in-depth interviews with investigators, prosecutors, friends and family, each episode will peel back the plastic cover of the couch to discover why and how these maternal matriarchs of the family can become deadly.”

Netflix has unveiled the official trailer for Michelle Wolf’s new comedy special, “Michelle Wolf: The Well,” premiering worldwide on October 21.

According to the official synopsis, Wolf’s comedy special “gets real about white women, serial killers and adjusting to motherhood – combining fearless honesty with her signature humor and social insight.” The special is her first new hour for Netflix since “Joke Show” and follows her 2023 special, “It’s Great to Be Here.”

Fawesome, a free ad-supported streaming platform, will expand its Spanish-language content library through new partnerships with Latin American and international distributors.

The expansion reinforces parent company Future Today’s continued investments in serving Latin American audiences in the US. Fawesome’s new content includes telenovelas, classic Mexican films, popular Turkish and Korean dramas, reality competitions and inspiring religious series from partnerships with TV Azteca, Carcacol, Cisneros, Hemisphere, Intermedya and Olympusat.

WME and Group Effort Initiative (Group Effort) have joined forces for the latest iteration of NXT Industry Sessions, running from October 27 to November 21.

NXT Industry Sessions is a free and virtual course started by WME in 2020 to democratize access to the entertainment industry. Ryan Reynolds, co-founder of Group Effort, will be featured as one of the NXT Series speakers.

The program will feature additional speakers from the media industry and include case studies, quizzes, an industry terminology guide and live Q&As where students will have the opportunity to speak directly to entertainment industry executives.

WME will host an in-person networking and career day at its New York and Los Angeles offices for participants who complete the program. The event will feature career panels, mock interviews and networking opportunities for participants with industry executives and recruiters.
