Jen Hatmaker from HGTV says she has ‘never’ shared guardianship with Brandon

HGTVs Jen Hatmaker is open about how her separation from her alienated husband, Brandon -Hatmakerinfluenced their five children.

“I have to see my children suffer and mourn and that loss, in some respects, I will never come for them,” said Jen, 51, in the episode of September 9 of “”The Jamie Kern Lima show“Podcast.” I am so proud of them. During her 26-year-old marriage, Jen said that she and Brandon, 53, raised their children to know what integrity, loyalty and character looks like.

But my greatest joy is to see them as the strong and independent young adults I always hoped they would be.”

At the time, Jen found out that Brandon was unfaithful, the couple had two children in high school, two at the university and a graduate in the university.

While Jen acknowledged that her children were older at the time of the split, every person needed time to process everything.

“There is no smoothing about a story for teenagers and young adults when a father goes to bed on a normal night and is gone the next morning,” she said in the podcast. “You can’t polish that. There is no shiny version of that. There is no way to sell it softly to a bunch of young adults and teenagers. They know everything. They are also smart.”

Brandon is currently married to Tina Hatmakerwhile Jen has yielded a romance with boyfriend Tyler Merritt.

When he looked back at the end of her marriage, Jen acknowledged that the relationship had not been as strong as he could have been for quite some time.

“When I tell you there were signs, I am not the only one who saw it,” said Jen. “Children are not stupid. It is certainly one of the most difficult parts of the story for me.”
