Jelly Roll’s dramatic beardless transformation leaves the family stunned

Jelly Roll is undergoing a dramatic transformation as part of his ongoing 200-pound weight loss — starting with shaving his beard for the first time in a decade.

The 40-year-old musician, who is currently touring Australia, surprised fans and family alike when he decided to remove his signature facial hair, a moment documented in a recent social media post shared by his wife, Bunnie Xo, RadarOnline.com can report.

Bunnie, 45, revealed the milestone in an Instagram clip, telling followers: “Y’all, I’ve been with my husband for 10 years now. [and] I’ve never seen this guy without his facial hair. Not a crazy time at all.”

She added that the clean shaven appearance was partially inspired by her husband’s recent weight loss: “My husband, in honor of his shoot he did today, is going to completely shave off his beard because now that he’s so skinny – look at that crazy jawline – we want to see that jawline, right ladies?”

Before the shave, Jelly Roll joked about the big change, saying, “We’re trying to see if a facelift might be in order.” But Bunnie refused to look until the transformation was complete, repeating, “I’m not looking.” I’m not looking, okay?’ She told fans: “He was just trying to show me, [but] I won’t watch until it’s all done,” he later added: “He just kicked me out of the room.”

When she finally returned, Jelly Roll’s beard had changed from a goatee to what she playfully called a “police mustache,” a look she said she found unexpectedly attractive. She praised her husband, telling him he looked “so good” and calling them both “fire.”

But when the beard was completely gone, the revelation left her momentarily stunned. She covered her mouth and admitted, “The completely naked face isn’t terrible.”

The couple then FaceTimed the lovers to show off the fresh look, with reactions ranging from emotional to shocked. One person said: “Oh my God, I’m going to cry,” while another exclaimed: “What the fuck? I’m scared.”

Despite the private backlash, Jelly Roll – born Jason DeFord – has yet to publicly share his fully shaved face online. As fans eagerly awaited the big reveal, Bunnie assured them, “Hey guys, he’ll show you all when he’s ready.”

The bold change in care comes as Jelly Roll continues its highly visible health transformation. Over the summer, he showed off his slimmer figure while guest hosting Jimmy Kimmel Liveand he has openly shared his goal of appearing on the cover of Men’s Health in March 2026.

He has vowed to lose the weight publicly, explaining: “I wanted to lose it in front of everyone. I wanted to talk about it.”
