Jay-Z walks the red carpet with Beyonce and Blue Ivy amid rape allegations

Jay Z made his first public appearance after being accused of raping a 13-year-old girl Sean “Diddy” Combs early 2000s.

The rapper, 55, stepped out with his wife, Beyonce, the daughter of the couple Blue Ivy Carter and his mother-in-law, Tina Knowles, at Disney’s premiere Mufasa in Hollywood, California, on Monday, December 9.

The family presented a united front at the event, posing arm in arm on the red carpet. Beyoncé voices lioness Nala in the film, which serves as a prequel to the 2019 film adaptation The Lion King – while Blue Ivy voices lioness cub Kiara.

The outing comes after Jay-Z was accused of rape in a civil lawsuit along with Combs.

Per NBC Newsthe rapper was accused of raping a 13-year-old girl in 2000 along with 55-year-old Combs. The accuser, who has remained anonymous and identified only as “Jane Doe,” alleged that the attack occurred at an afterparty for the MTV Music Video Awards.

Jay-Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter, responded to the lawsuit on Sunday, December 8. We weeklydenied the allegations and said his “only heartbreak is for my family.” (Jay-Z has been married to Beyoncé, 43, since 2008, and the couple have three children, Blue Ivy, 12, and twins Rumi and Sir, both 8.)

“My wife and I will have to sit down our children, one of whom is at the age when her friends will surely see the press and ask questions about the nature of these claims, and explain the cruelty and greed of people,” Read Jay-Z’s statement. “I mourn yet another loss of innocence. Children should not have to experience this at a young age. It is unfair to have to try to understand the inexplicable level of malice intended to destroy families and the human spirit.”

The statement also spoke of Jay-Z’s “strict codes and honor,” claiming he strives to protect all children. He addressed his response to the Texas-based attorney Tony Buzbeewho filed the lawsuit Sunday after the initial filing in October, which only included Diddy’s alleged involvement, Jay-Z wrote, “You appear to be exploiting people for personal gain. Only your network of conspiracy theorists, fake physics, will believe the idiotic claims you have made against me which, without the severity of the harm to children, would be laughable.”

Buzbee is one of several attorneys who have filed lawsuits on behalf of several of Diddy’s alleged victims. He has previously claimed to represent at least 120 of the disgraced mogul’s alleged victims. Diddy, who has been in jail since his arrest in September, has denied the allegations. Diddy has been denied bail four times and is currently behind bars until his trial, scheduled for May 2025.
