Jason Momoa series ‘Chief of War’ determines release date on Apple TV+

The historic epic series ‘Chief of War’ by Jason Momoa has set its premiere date on Apple TV+.
The drama series will debut with the first two episodes on 1 August, with new episodes that fall weekly every week until September 19. Based on real events, the nine-delivery series “Warrior Ka’iana (Momoa) follows, trying to unite the islands for Western colonization in the late 18th century”, by official logline.
Together with Momoa, the Cast Luciane Buchanan, Temuera Morrison, in Ao O Hinepehinga, Cliff Curtis, Kaina Makua, Moses Goods, Siua Ikale’o, Brandon Finn, Mainei Kinimaka and in Kohe.
“Chief of War” was originally put into use at Apple in 2022. It is the second TV series that Momoa made with the streaming arm of the tech giant, followed by the post-apocalyptic series “See”, which was broadcast for three seasons.
Momoa made the show together with Thomas Pa’a Sibbett, who have native Hawaiian descent. Both serve as executive producers, where Momoa directs the season finale. Doug Jung acts as a showrunner and executive producer. Extra executive producers include: Peter Chernin, Jenno Topping, Tracey Cook, Brian Mendoza, Anders Engstrom, Jim Rowe, Molly Allen, Francis Lawrence and Tim van Patten. Justin Chon directed the first two episodes and executive produces. Fifth season is the studio.
This is the first time that Momoa has written for television. Earlier he wrote, directed and played in the film ‘Road to Paloma’, which was released in 2014. He and Pa’a Sibbett also wrote the story together for the position ‘The Last Manhunt’, where Momoa appeared on the screen in a supporting role. Momoa played in the feature film “Braven” in 2018, which was co -written by Pa’a Sibbett.
