It’s hard, but “change is good”

“SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE” BAAS LORNE MICHAELS has finally spoken out the huge cast-up of the Sketch Show prior to season 51 and says: “Change is good.”
In recent weeks, the departure of Heidi Gardner, Devon Walker, Michael Longfellow and Emil Wakim have seen, plus not destroying the breakdown of ALL, because Ben Marshall was promoted to the main cast, Martin Herlihy moved to the writing of Staf and John Higgins left the show. On Friday, a last-minute shock, with series Vet Ego Nwodim, delivered after it was reported that she was staying on board.
While on the red carpet on the Emmys on Sunday, where “SNL50” won the best variety special, Michaels was asked about the recent cast changes by Entertainment tonight.
“The show has always brought people from different ages and different generations and it is how it revives itself,” said Michaels. “It is always difficult when people leave, but there is a time for that and our audience has always remained relatively young, and more now with Tiktok.”
He continued: “Change is good. The people we bring in, I am really enthusiastic about.”
Indeed, “SNL” adds some new faces – some of whom came to Tiktok – with Tommy Brennan, Jeremy Culhane, Kam Patterson and Veronika Slowikowska who join the cast. Other recurring players are Mikey Day, Sarah Sherman, Marcello Hernández, Andrew Dismukes, James Austin Johnson, Ashley Padilla and Jane Wickline.
Asked for “SNL50”, Michaels admitted that after planning almost two years, “when it was finally over, that was both exciting and something of a relief.”
“The regular season was exciting for many reasons, but there was also an election, so they are usually good years for us,” he added.
