Invincible renewed for season 4 on Prime Video
Another season of Prime Video’s ‘Invincible’ is coming.
“Invincible” creator Robert Kirkman made the season 4 announcement Friday during San Diego Comic-Con at Prime Video’s adult animation panel. He was joined by Vivienne Medrano, creator of “Hazbin Hotel,” executive producer and star of “The Legend of Vox Machina” Travis Willingham and co-creator of “Sausage Party: Foodtopia” Kyle Hunter for the panel.
During the panel, Kirkman revealed the new blue and black costume for Steven Yeun’s Invincible, coming in Season 3. In the comics, Mark Grayon, aka Invincible, enters a darker, more violent era in the middle issues of the superhero comic. The new costume, a stark change from his yellow and blue spandex, is a fan favorite from the comics.
“Invincible” concluded its two-part second season in April, after premiering the first half last November. The superhero series was already renewed for a season 3 after it first premiered in 2021. Kirkman has said that work on season 3 took place concurrently with season 2, and that the wait between seasons won’t be as long as the gap between the first two. .
“Everyone loves split seasons!” Kirkman said it jokingly Variety after the season 2 finale. “Luckily we worked on season 2 and season 3 at the same time. I think we’re unfortunately too far into Season 3 to learn anything from Season 2, but I think we’ll pick up some things about how best to adapt this show. We’re learning several things on the animation side that work and don’t work that will continue to improve the show. I’m very happy with the show. I love how it turned out. I strongly believe that season 2 will be better than season 1, and season 3 will be better than season 2. If we are lucky enough to continue, I hope we can continue to improve the show until the final season just is finished. a perfect product without any defects.”
Amazon’s Prime Video is a leader in adult animated series, thanks to shows like Kirkman’s comic book series “Invincible,” Critical Role’s popular Dungeons and Dragons series “The Legend of Vox Machina,” “Hazbin Hotel,” which started as a web series before it was picked up by Prime Video’ and ‘Sausage Party: Foodtopia’, a spin-off of Seth Rogen’s raw, food-based film.
“The Legend of Vox Machina” is preparing to release its third season this fall, with the spinoff “Mighty Nein” on the way, while “Hazbin Hotel” and “Sausage Party: Foodtopia” both debuted earlier this year.
