IndiGo becomes the first airline in India with more than 1,000 women pilots | News


IndiGo, India’s airline of choice, announced that it now employs over 1,000 women pilots, making it the first and only airline in India to achieve this milestone. At IndiGo, women pilots represent 17.5% of the total pilot workforce, which is more than three times the global average. The airline is committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace, one that reflects the evolving aspirations of a new generation of women in aviation across India. With women representing more than 45% of its total workforce, IndiGo continues to expand equal opportunities across all roles.

Outside the cockpit, women make up over 30% of the airport workforce, almost 25% of the Operations Control Center workforce, over 20% in the financial sector, over 15% in the digital sector, and over 23% are women in leadership positions. Sukhjit Singh Pasricha, Group Chief Human Resources Officer, IndiGo, said: “On International Women’s Day, we are proud to announce that IndiGo now has over 1,000 women pilots, one of the highest in the world.
