Stefon Diggs won’t appear in court until after the NFL season – the New England Patriots star’s arraignment in his assault case has been postponed.
TMZ Sports has confirmed that Diggs’ court appearance – initially scheduled for January 23, two days before the AFC Championship Game – is now February 13… five days after the Super Bowl.
The Pats have a good chance to reach the Big Game this year… and if they win it all, Diggs can take part in all the post-Super Bowl festivities.
Diggs is facing felony strangulation or choking and assault and battery charges after his ex-boss accused him of getting physical during a dispute over salary payments.
Diggs denied the claims through his lawyers… and the Pats said they support their trustee.
Diggs’ girlfriend, rapper Cardi B, also passionately defended her husband on social media, saying she was certain the former chef had lied.
The rescheduling isn’t all that surprising… as Diggs’ attorneys said they would ask for it at an earlier hearing.
For now, Diggs can focus on facing the Los Angeles Chargers in the Wild Card Round…which takes place on Sunday.
