India’s Champions Trophy Cricket wins a hit for Jiohotstar

Jiohotstar has cemented his position as a streaming of India and reveals stunning viewers for the recently closed ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025 Cricket Tournament. The tournament culminated in a nail-biting final where India triumphed over New Zealand, which supply dazzling statistics that underline the dominance of the platform on the largest cricket market in the world.

The streaming service reported a total of 5.4 billion views about the tournament, whereby viewers registered a cumulative watch time of almost 110 billion minutes. The final of India-New Zealand alone generated unprecedented views of 1.24 billion and reached a peak simultaneously viewers of 61.2 million users.

Hindi-speaking regions rode more than 38% of the total audience of the platform, including States, including Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Maharashtra, Goa, Punjab and Haryana leading consumption patterns. Jiohotstar has also bent his technical muscle by reaching more than 80% penetration in WiFi-enabled TV households, where Maharashtra included the highest views in this segment.

“The overwhelming reaction to the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025 marks a leap towards the chance of billion screen, where seamless access and compelling involvement are now the expectation, not the exception,” said Kiran Mani, CEO of Digital at parent company Jiostar. “The tournament also saw the highest single-day subscriptions ever since the launch, during the India vs Australia competition, further underlines the scale on which the public embraces digital streaming.”

The ambitious coverage of Jiohotstar included 16 different feeds in nine languages: English, Hindi, Marathi, Haryanvi, Bengali, Bhojpuri, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada. The platform supplemented these options with four multi-camera feeds, an Indian sign language and audio-describing commentary to guarantee accessibility for a diverse audience. A vertical feed option (MaxView) in both Hindi and English was aimed at mobile viewers who consume content along the way.
