'Hysterical,' 'Las Culturistas,' Ego Nwodim Win Ambies Podcast Awards

“Las Culturistas” organizes Bowen Yang and Matt Rogers and “Saturday Night Live’s” Ego Nwodim belonged to the winners of the fifth annual ambinations, the Kudos handed out by the Podcast Academy to recognize AudioTerTainment.

Wondery, Audible, IHeart Media, Audacy, NPR, the CBC, Pineapple Street Studios, Higher Ground Productions and Crooked Media led the platforms and production people that were honored in 28 categories. The prizes were awarded on Monday evening in the McCormick Convention Center in Chicago as part of the annual Podcast Movement Conference.

Podcast of the Year Honors went to ‘Hysterical’, the research story of a mysterious ailment spread by teenage girls in Leroy, NY, a small town about 30 miles east of Rochester. The seven -part series comes from Wondery, Audacy’s Pineapple Street Studios. “Hysterical” also won the Laurel for the best reporting for the work of host and producer Dan Taberski. “Las Culturistas” (IHeart/Big Money Players) with “SNL” prouter Yang and actor -Comedian Rogers, was recognized for Comedy Podcast. Yang’s “SNL” CastMate won the category interview Podcast for “Thank you daddy with ego nwodim.”

Higher land, the banner led by Barack and Michelle Obama, took the trophy for entertainment podcast for “The Wonder of Stevie”, in which the work of Stevie Wonder was investigated (Audible, Higher Ground, Pineapple Street Studios). Wondery and Crooked Media claimed the Prize for History Podcast for ‘Empire City: The Untold Origin Story of the Nypd’, a deeply investigated dip in the non -related history of the New York Police Department.

NPR’s “How I Build This podcast with Guy Raz” (Wondery, Build It Productions, NPR) received the Knik for Business Podcast. NPR also won in the political or opinion category for “The NPR Politics Podcast.”

Actor-Comedian and Podcaster TIG Notaro organized the ambitions, who also donate honorary doctorate a kudos to IRA Glass (Governors Award) and Sam Sanders (Impact Award).
