Hugging Face unveils two new humanoid robots

AI DEV platform Hug Continued his push in robotics on Thursday with the release of two new humanoid robots.
The company announced a few open source robots, Hopejr and Reachy Mini. Hopejr is a full-size humanoid robot with 66 activated freedom degrees, or 66 independent movements, including the ability to walk and move its arms. Reachy Mini is a desktop unit that can move, talk, listen and are used to test AI apps.
Hugging face has no exact timeline for sending these robots. The co-founder and CEO of the company, Clem Delangue, told WAN via e-mail that they expect that they will send at least the first few units by the end of the year, and the waiting list is currently open.

Cuddling face estimates that the Hopejr costs around $ 3,000 per unit and the Reachy Mini costs around $ 250 to $ 300, depending on the rates.
“The important aspect is that these robots are open source, so that everyone can assemble, rebuild, [and] Understand how they work, and [that they’re] Affordable, so that robotics are not dominated by just a few large players with dangerous Black-Box systems, “said Delangue via e-mail.
This robot release was made partly possible by the acquisition of the Humanoid Robotics Startup Pollen Robotics company, which was announced in April according to DeNangue. He added that the pollen team gave hugging face “new possibilities” needed to make these bots.
Hugging face has made a joint push in the robotics industry in recent years. It was launched LeroA collection of open AI models, data sets and tools to build robotics systems, in 2024.
Until now, the company has released an updated version of its 3D-printed and programmable robot arm in 2025, the SO-101, which the company has built in a partnership with the French robot company The Robot Studio. It also expanded the training data on its Lerobot platform, via a partnership with AI Startup Yaak, with training data for self-driving machines.
