Hosting of SNL After 20 years give him ‘Night Terrors’

Jack Black is organizing “Saturday Night Live” for the first time in almost 20 years on April 5 – and it keeps him awake at night.
The actor, comedian and musician stopped in London on Sunday for the premiere of “A Minecraft Movie” before he went into the “SNL” writer’s room this week Variety That it feels ‘cray cray’ to return to Studio 8h after two decades. That’s right – the last time Black organized was on December 17, 2005 to promote Peter Jackson’s “King Kong”.

He continued that he has no idea in the direction that his sketches will take, as is usual on the fast show. “Do you know what they are thinking about now? They are just all in a dead coma from last night’s show,” said Black about the “SNL” cast and writers. “Maybe some of them think of some ideas, but I really think it is one of those shows that they have put together in one week, that is part of the excitement.”
Black said he likes “all those children” in the current cast “SNL”, and added: “I call them children because I was on that show before some of them were born. Except Kenan [Thompson]We are around the same age. That’s about it. ”
In addition to his hosting performance from 2005, Black led ‘Saturday Night Live’ two other times in 2002 and 2003. This time Black promotes ‘a Minecraft Movie’, which will be in the cinema on 4 April. Black plays expert Crafter Steve Steve in the film, which is directed by his ‘Nacho Libre’ collaborator Jared Hess. The plot follows Steve while working with a group of colleague outside bones – including Jason Momoa, Emma Myers, Danielle Brooks and newcomer Sebastian Hansen – when they are suddenly pulled in the video game.
Before Black played the role, Black said Variety That he was familiar with the game. “I did some Minecraft gaming, yes! I would not call myself an expert, but yes, I know my way in a Minecraft universe,” he said.
Black also uses his musical skills in the film and performs the original song from ‘I Feeling Alive’ that he also wrote with Mark Ronson and Andrew Wyatt.
“I am very enthusiastic about that,” Black said about the song, with Dave Grohl on drums. “Small [Boyter]Our producer was from: “At the end we need a big song, something that plays the entire film.” And I had something like: “I can’t write a song that closes the entire movie.” I said: “Maybe if you could get those guys who wrote” I’m just know, “they could do it. And he said, “Ready!” And let it happen. ”
Black continued: “I had something like:” Are you joking? ” And we started to jam and work together and I had something like: “Oh my God, this is heaven.” ‘
