HGTV star Carter Oosterhouse and actress Vrouw Amy Smart Transform Leave shed from the 1800S in photo-Perfect off-grid Stay
Hgtv -star Carter Oosterhouse and his actress woman, Amy Smartgive Chip And Joanna Gaines A run for their money with one of their latest transformations: a total overhaul of an abandoned barn in Michigan who saw the space convert into a stunning home.
Oosterhouse, 48, and Smart, 49, opened the doors for their expired barn, which is located at the back of their traverse City, Mi, ownership, for Magnolia Network‘s Hit series’ in with the old’.
The couple confessed that they wanted to transform the barn into a real living space for some time, but they struggled to start the project.
But with the Magnolia Network cameras that follow them, Oosterhouse-Die has organized several shows on HGTV and Smart no longer able to ignore the task that was not checked on their task list since they bought the house in 2005.
“The barn has been around since 1890. It has had so many lives. It has had so much character to bring it to this next state of his life, it is overwhelming, but it is also just fantastic,” said Oosterhouse.

He explained that he was “in love” on the barn in 2005 when the couple bought the house, the area as “raw” and “untouched”.
The father, however, shares that daughter Flora9, with “Just Friends” Star Smart, noted that when they snarled the house, they concentrated on repairing the main ownership and forgot the shed.
Years later, with their main residence fully overhauled, the couple finally had enough time in the hands to tackle the dream space of Oosterhouse – and to give it a new lease as a place where the duo can spend time with their loved ones.
“The real intention behind it is to create that space that people can use and people can collect and people can break bread. That screams for me about what that barn should be,” he explained.
When cameras entered the shed, viewers saw a dilapidated, dusty and empty space with wooden panels that had to be touched.
The father and house expert started adding glass doors on the east and west side of the barn so that natural light could overflow inside.
He explained that he wanted half of the shed to be converted into a living room that can be used “all season” for guests to relax by the fireplace, while the other half will be a guesthouse with a large bedroom and two twin beds for visitors.
He added: “The main wall that separates the space will be filled with isolated glass, keeping the heat inside when it gets cold in the winter, but also brings light and spaciousness.”

As he tore apart the barn, the expert discovered the original rock wall that had not been touched since the 19th century.
He added that, although most of the barn has retained its structure, the South Side wall must be replaced.
“This gets many of the elements, ice, snow, rain, all that jazz. I want to seal the whole barn,” he said.
Smart and Oosterhouse also showed viewers the other things that design a space, including their store trips to buy new glass windows.
After picking up new windows, the father brought his sister in, SiennaThat is an interior designer in Los Angeles.
“She is a rock star,” he said. “I know that something like this shed is a great project that she can be part of because she knows me. She knows my family.”
Starting with the kitchen, Sienna revealed that she would do dark blue cupboards and a light backsplash.
Sienna also helped her brother and his wife to decide where the bed should be placed in the large bedroom.

“We want my sister to stay there with her family. And that is the whole idea behind this barn renovation is that it is a restoration, but it is also a family -collecting space. I want to make sure it is completed here for the vacation,” said Oosterhouse.
With the transformation, the couple that the ground floor of the barn now had a rustic chic aesthetics came up with a large dining table, a large couch and several chairs – making it the perfect place for the family to collect.
The renovated kitchen contained naval cabinets, exposed beam, a white backsplash and a matching white breakfast table.
The main bedroom also follows the same exposed radiant theme and comes with a king -size bed and a small window with which guests can look at the swept trees.
The other room in the barn overlooks the ground floor and is supplied with two twin beds and lots of room for their daughter to play.
Finally, the bathroom now has beautiful ivory penny tiles and a light green vanity.
“I think it’s great, I think it has become great,” said the Home Pro before he thanked his family for “tolerating the past 10 months” while renovating the space.
