HBO’s ‘Harry Potter’ Show Eyes Nick Frost to play Hagrid
HBO’s “Harry Potter” television series has tightened another British veterinarian because of his huge ensemble of Wizarding World characters. Nick Frost, known for his turns in the comic cornetto trilogy of Edgar Wright, is approaching a deal to play rubus Hagrid, the friendly half gigantic grounds of Hogwarts, Variety has confirmed with sources.
HBO refused to comment on Frost’s potential involvement, although they gave the Cagey reaction that “we appreciate that such a high-profile series will draw a lot of rumor and speculation.”
“While we make our way through pre-production, we will only confirm details if we finish deals,” the network continued.
Deadline was the first to report on Frost’s association with the “Harry Potter” series.
