HBO Max will continue to expand Asia Pacific with launch of 14 market
Warner Bros. Discovery accelerates its international streaming push with the expansion of HBO Max in 14 extra areas in Asia Pacific that takes place before October 15.
The rollout brings the Premium streamer to Bangladesh, Brunei, Cambodia, Laos, Macau, Mongolia, Pakistan and Sri Lanka, including areas, which marks another important milestone in the aggressive global expansion strategy of the platform.
The Launch Timing Aligns Strategically with HBO’s Upcoming Original Series “It: Welcome to Derry,” which Premieres Oct. 27. The Stephen King-Inspired Drama Features An Ensemble Cast Led by Taylour Paige, Jovan Adepo, Chris Chalk, James Remar, Stephen Rider, Madeleine Stowe, Rudy Mancuso, and Bill Skarsgård. Andy Muschietti, Barbara Muschierti and Jason Fuchs developed the series, which expands the Horror universe Muschierti that was founded in his “IT” film dologology.
“After successful launches in Australia and Europe earlier this year, the global expansion of HBO Max will continue to bring unparalleled entertainment to more fans around the world,” said JB Perrette, CEO and president of Global Streaming and Games at Warner Bros. Discovery. “Towards the end of the year, HBO Max will be available in more than 100 markets, with more to come in 2026, including large launches in Germany, Italy and the UK”
The service will be the portfolio of Warner Bros. Present Discovery about the prestige programming of HBO, Blockbuster franchises such as “Harry Potter” and DC Universe properties, plus contents of cartoon network and various lifonic networks, including Discovery, TLC, Food Network, ID and HGTV.
New subscribers have access to recent theatrical releases, including “Superman”, “Sinners” and “Final Destination: Bloodlines”, in addition to HBO’s flag shift series “House of the Dragon”, “The Last of Us”, “The Penguin” and “The Pitt”.
