Hayley Atwell, Rupert Everett joins ‘Rivals’ season 2 at Disney+
Disney+ has unveiled new casting additions for the second season of “Rivals”, where Hayley Atwell and Rupert Everett joined the ensemble as guest stars in the drama based on the best -selling novel by Jilly Cooper.
Atwell, known for ‘Mission Impossible’ and ‘Agent Carter’, will portray Helen Gordon, the ex-wife of Rupert Campbell-Black and mother, of his children Marcus and Tabitha. Everett, whose credits are “Napoleon” and “My Policeman”, takes on the role of Malise Gordon, Helen’s husband and the former show-jumping coach and mentor of Campbell-Black.
The Happy Prince production, part of ITV Studios, is currently photographing in the UK. Season 2 will expand to 12 episodes, building on the success of the first season, that became one of the most popular British original dramas from Disney+.
Additional New Cast Members Announced Include Maxim Ays (“” Sanditon “), Holly Cattle (” Young Sherlock, “” Mr Loverman “), Oliver Dench (” Hotel Portofino, “” Domina “), Amanda Lawby (” Malory Towers, “)) (“Wolfblood,” “Lord we go”), Eliot Salt (“Slow Horses,” “normal people”) and Jonny Weldon (“One Day”, “Brassic”).
The series brings its original ensemble -cast back in addition to an extensive list of recurring supporting players, including Wendy Albiston, Jamie Bisping, Denise Black and David Calder, among other things.
The second season takes place in the glamorous world of British television against the background of the countryside of Cotswolds, the second season will have increased power struggle and deeper rivalry, since career, marriages and reputations are in the balance.

The series is executive produced by Treadwell-Collins, Lamb, Felicity Blunt, Elliot Hegarty, Laura Wade, Cooper and Jonny Richards for Disney+ EMEA script content. Eliza Mellor serves as a series producer.
“Rivals” return to Hulu in the US and Disney+ in the UK and International. The first season is currently available for streaming on Disney+.
