Harvey Weinstein ‘doomed to die in prison’ after cancer diagnosis

Harvey Weinstein’s final days look like they will be spent behind bars as he battles cancer.

A source told RadarOnline.com: “Weinstein is resigned to the fact that he could die before he even reaches his second trial.
“He is weak and is tortured every day for his demise. The stress and the cancer are a killer combination and he may only have a few weeks left.”

However, a representative for Weinstein initially denied the diagnosis and subsequently shut down “speculation” surrounding his health status.
They said in a statement: “Craig Rothfeld, Mr. Weinstein’s authorized healthcare legal representative in New York State, expresses his deep dismay at the speculation surrounding Mr. Weinstein’s medical condition.
“It is both disturbing and unacceptable that such private and confidential health matters have become the subject of public debate. Out of respect for Mr. Weinstein’s privacy, we will have no further comment.”

Weinstein was sentenced to 23 years behind bars in 2020 for sexual assault and rape, but that conviction was overturned last April after the New York Court of Appeals ruled that the judge improperly allowed testimony from women not directly involved in the charges .
The new trial will begin on November 12.

Ahead of his 2020 conviction, the movie mogul shared a statement, saying: “First of all, for all the women who testified, we can have different truths. I am deeply sorry for all the men and women currently experiencing this crisis. our country.
“You know, the movement actually started with me, and I think what happened, I was the first example, and now there’s thousands of men accused and a whole generation of things that I don’t think any of us understood. ”

Despite his apparent remorse, Weinstein has been hit with new sexual abuse charges as he continues to await his retrial.
A Manhattan grand jury returned the new indictment last month, alleging sexual assaults at luxury hotels in Manhattan and other locations in New York City.

Meanwhile, Weinstein’s former lawyer Duncan Levin recently provided advice to Garth Brooks after the country icon decided to sue his accuser of sexual abuse.
He said: “… Naming the accuser can be counterproductive, especially if the accusation is credible or if the accuser receives sympathy from the public.
“It could also be seen as an attempt to intimidate or deter other potential accusers from coming forward, which would attract criticism.”
Levin added: “Legally, Brooks will have to prove that the allegations are false and caused him reputational damage, a high bar in defamation cases.”

The attorney called the singer’s decision to name “Jane Roe” a “high-risk, high-reward strategy.”
According to court documents, the woman contacted Brooks through an attorney in July with a demand letter, accusing the star of sexual grooming, creating a sexually hostile work environment, unwanted sexual touching and assault.

Roe’s is seeking damages and a jury trial, while Brooks is seeking punitive damages, “a declaratory judgment that the defendant’s allegations against him of sexual misconduct are untrue.”
