Hannah says Nick wanted to be famous
SPOILER ALERT: The following contains spoilers from the Season 7 reunion of ‘Love Is Blind,’ streaming now on Netflix.
Nearly a year after the cast of season 7’s “Love Is Blind” fell in love behind a wall, the group reunited for the reunion special, which was taped this month and released on October 30.
Starting with the positive: the two couples who tied the knot in the finale: Taylor Krause and Garrett Josemans; and Tyler Francis and Ashley Adionser – are both still together and going strong. The latter went through some turmoil during the season when he told her he had three “sperm donor babies.” Since the show started streaming, Tyler has faced online backlash for not sharing the nature of his relationship with his three children, as photos of them all together have been revealed. However, during the reunion, the couple made that all clear.
“Those children, that family, they didn’t sign up for this. I helped a friend and her wife start a family; her wife eventually left her. I voluntarily stepped in and helped,” he explained, adding that he has since spent holidays with that family, as he has with many of his friends’ families. “Ashley knows all this. This is news to the world, this has never been news to us… I don’t owe anyone an explanation except my wife and they are sitting here with me.’
After breaking down in tears, Ashley added that the couple had had many conversations about the situation and that she knew he didn’t want to share on TV anymore, which is why it came off as if he had been hiding things from her. In reality, he was honest, just off camera.
Marissa George and Ramses Prashad
Marissa cried as she talked about her relationship with Ramses, who explained that he broke up with her because their energy felt too different; he said he feared that if they stayed together, he would feel “exhausted and overwhelmed.” While he said he doesn’t want to change who she is, she whispered to Hannah, “I think I hate him.”
Marissa’s mother was also present and said she had spoken to Ramses the day he dumped Marissa and that she wanted to “slap him in the throat.” She said she was grateful he called it off because her daughter “would have continued that relationship.”
Later in the show, Marissa admitted to contacting Ramses after filming stopped.
Hannah Jiles and Nick Dorka
Although Hannah stood by all of her comments to Nick throughout the season, she apologized for being “cruel” and becoming emotional while admitting that she had been working on herself over the past year. Nick said she was getting too much hate online, but she fired back and asked him why that was like those hateful comments on Instagram when he felt that way.
The tension continued when Hannah revealed that she found Nick’s notebook with his goals written down, including one that read, “Be the most famous person ever on ‘Love Is Blind.'” He claimed this was one of his 90 Day goals he had set. was written “long before” he joined the show.
“I would never sit there in front of the camera and say I love you a hundred times if I didn’t mean it. I was super sincere,” he replied. Hannah called Nick “very calculated,” and revealed she heard him say things behind her back about her appearance, and he called her a “grenade” — but then she was extremely nice when the cameras were rolling.
The segment then expanded to the rest of the group, as some of the men confirmed to Nick did called Hannah a “grenade” to the boys, who then told their partners. Nick denied it, first saying, “I never mentioned Hannah’s appearance.” Moments later he admitted he was “disappointed” when he saw her.
Monica Davis and Stephen Richardson
Stephen tried(ish) to clear the air about sexting another woman while engaged to Monica, saying it was a woman he had never met in person but he “shouldn’t have had the conversation” . When he mentioned that he had written a letter to her parents apologizing, she became frustrated and replied, “Did you write that letter so you could say it?”
While Stephen once again admitted that he messed up and went to therapy, “at the end of the day, no one cares,” he said. “I understand that I completely screwed up. How much responsibility do I still have to take?”
Alex Byrd and Tim Godbee
One of the most dramatic moments of the reunion was when Alex and Tim met for the first time in almost a year; In fact, they hadn’t spoken since the day he told her he never wanted to see her again.
The pair broke up the big fight, which was not seen on camera but was often referenced; she said that after he disrespected her for more than an hour, she said he “acted like a little donkey,” a comment he found extremely rude. “You’re all asking men to take you seriously and why would you belittle me?” he asked.
Despite online claims that the fight turned physical, both stated that it did not happen But she claimed, “Production had to come in and calm you down.” She said she “tried to protect” him on the show to make him look good.
The moment their relationship ended seemed to be when she took a nap while his parents were visiting. Alex claimed they were all together for six or seven hours and she wanted to sleep for an hour before work. She also claimed that she didn’t feel too inclined to prove anything because of what happened the day before: Tim met her father, asked his permission to marry Alex, and told her hours later that he had doubts.
At the end of the reunion, three new singles were introduced that will be part of season 8, set in Minneapolis, which will be released in February.
