Gucci Family Series set in Sky Italia as ‘House of Gucci’ Response

Four years after Ridley Scott’s ‘House of Gucci’ angry, members of the Gucci family and a large part of the Italian film community for what they claimed was a coarse and inaccurate representation of the Gucci-Saga, Pay TV operator Sky announced to determine a high-end Italian TV series.

The series with six episodes-titled “Gucci: Game Over”-is directed by Gabriele Muccino, who helped Will Smith-Starrer “The Pursuit of Happyness” and a whole series of Italian film and TV hits. The show is based on a memoirs of Allegra Gucci, the daughter of Maurizio Gucci and Patrizia Reggiani (who were played by Adam Driver and Lady Gaga in “House of Gucci”).

“We will tell the Italian point of view as a reaction to ‘House of Gucci’ through the eyes of Allegra Gucci,” said Nils Hartmann, EVP Sky Studios Italy during a prior presentation of Comcast ownership Sky Italia.

On March 27, 1995, Maurizio Gucci, the head of the Gucci fashion house and grandson of brand founder Guccio Gucci, was shot on the door of his office in Milan. The crime was organized by his ex-wife Patrizia Reggiani, who was convicted in 1998.

The book by Allegra Gucci – which is in the form of letters to her murdered father – reveals many family secrets, talks about the relationship of her parents before and after the divorce and describes the details of the murder on March 1995.

“After ‘House of Gucci’, I had the opportunity to tell this important story,” said Allegra Gucci during the Sky presentation and noted that she was “very disappointed” by the Ridley Scott film “because it was a missed opportunity to tell a real and powerful story.”

“It is a very complex story that we portray from the position of Allegra,” Muccino added. “It is a story with a lot of pain, but also glamor, money and strength, the reason why this family group is himself wronging.”

Shooting on “Gucci: Game about” starts in the spring of 2026. The show is co -produced by Sky Studios and Lucky Red from Italy.

“It is a story that is known all over the world, both because of the fame of the brand and the tragedy involved,” said Lucky Red Chief Andrea Occhipinti. He also indicated that the cast “Gucci: Game about” will all be Italian – the Italian film community was not satisfied with the fact that Ridley Scott did not use Italian actors in lead roles “House of Gucci”.

Although it is completely Italian in terms of talent, the TV series “Gucci: Game about” certainly has international ambitions.

“The prospect of making this important series with Sky, gives the international scope,” Occhipinti noted and said that he already gets positive feedback from the world market.
