Google shifts Android news to a virtual event ahead of its I/O developer conference

News about Android is exiled to a Zijshow at the annual developer conference of Google, Google I/ONext month. On Monday, the company announced that it would share information about the latest updates that come to the Android ecosystem on an upcoming virtual event called “The Android Show: I/O edition”, broadcast on 13 May.
The decision to move the Android section of Google I/O to its own separate event prior to the start of I/O suggests that this year’s developer conference can be even more AI-sorrow than normal. AI news and updates have taken part of the Google I/O Consumer and Developer Keynote addresses.
However, Google frame this shift differently.
Instead, the company says that there were “so many new things to share” about Android that it chose to make a special event – an I/O edition of His Android Show Video Podcast – Like another way to share the latest news and changes. It also notes that Android will remain present at I/O in keynotes and technical sessions for developers.
Nevertheless, moving a major part of the Android news to a virtual show prior to the main event is a remarkable programming change for the Developer Conference. Or that is because there is “too much news” or because Google decided that Android’s news was not as high as a invoicing as in previous years can still be seen.
