Google launches stand-alone NotebookLM apps for Android and iOS

Google announced on Monday that it officially released the Notebooklm apps Android And iOSA day for Google I/O 2025 and a day before the company said it would roll out.
Since the launch in 2023, the AI -based notes and research assistant has only been accessible via Desktop. Google has now made the service available on the road.
NotebookLM is designed to help people better understand complex information through functions such as smart summaries and the possibility of asking questions about documents and other materials.

The app gives access to audio overviews, which are the AI-generated podcasts of NotebookLM based on the source materials that you have provided. There is playing background and offline support for audio overviews.
With the app, people can also make new notebooks and view those they have already made. In addition, when you view a website, PDF or YouTube video on your device, you can tap the Share icon and select NotebookLM to add it as a new source. Users can also view sources that they have already uploaded in each of the notebooks.
NotebookLM on Android and iOS also has a light and dark mode that is used based on the system settings of the user’s device.
Given the timing of the launch, Google can share more about the app during the company’s i/o -keynote Tuesday.
